Check this out:
http://www.firingsquad.com/features/bitboys21/

They are not a theory anymore...
What would my next card be, G800 or Glaze3D ?
You should remember that Bitboys invented the EMBM which Matrox only licensed later.

Nop, not general hardware.
Since Matrox has already licensed some of their tech, it's a bit Matrox related.
Not to mention that if you read the article, you'd find that they are going to sell their chip to one of the bigger guys on the block like Diamond / Elsa / Creative / maybe, just maybe our beloved Matrox will buy their technology for us ?
Hey Just thought about it - Glaze3D 1200 = G1200 !!!
Glaze3D 2400 = G2400 !!!
Boy isn't it just made to be a Matrox ?

How much you wanna bet Kruzin's gonna kick this over to me-- but here I am anyway, posting in this totally unauthorized thread, because you know I want this card... but I want it to be a Matrox card... which it does sound like... and it might be...!!!
FS: Are you currently talking to any video card manufacturers? Have you thought about adopting a vertical model a la ATI, 3dfx or Matrox? What are your plans for production and distribution?

Shane: We are in discussions with several board manufacturers to market our products.
Keep your fingers crossed, people--- if all goes well, we may not only have the best of both worlds (which would be cool enough, right there), we might also (finally, oh please please...) get to jump on all the Nvidia-ites and Voodoo-lovers for once... and be the unassailable Kings (and Queens) of the (EM bump-mapped, dual head) Hill...!

When you believe in something, I mean truly believe you will fight passionately for it until you are successful, regardless of external factors or what people may say. We believe.
...I believe....!

Gurm, I wonder which came you are referring to... can not be MaxPayne can it, as there never has been a demo, only a video clip?

And it will be released "when ready", as so many other games these days.

Btw, I did not think that Future team and Bitboys were related. Remedy is the company behind 3dmarks and MaxP. (There actually is room for more than one company in Finland... 337 000 square kilometers and only 5 million people)

And yes, to keep this out of the Soap Box (why?), yes, it would be nice to have a Matrox Gl1200 and Gl2400...

And they weren't a theory when they were going to release that really cool game... what was that called again? The demo rocked... but it never materialized. Let's face it, the former members of Future Crew are really flashy but have difficulty delivering.

They don't have any silicon, but they claim that their simulations are accurate to actual silicon? Can you say BS? You really do not have a clue until you derive your simulation models from actual silicon. Perhaps their foundry provided them with the models. Even so, it takes an extremely advanced CAD flow to properly work with it. They have a lot of work ahead... A lot of really interesting things pop up with the smaller line width technologies that they probably have not run into yet. It will never work with their first batch of silicon.

Who will make their boards? Not too many people are left that make boards for different graphics chip companies. Possibly Elsa, Creative, Guillemot, Asus, Jaton, (other?). It will definitely not be Diamond. They will never produce any new boards based on anything other than a S3 chip.

I think that the game being refered to is Into the Shadows. There was a tech demo ages ago. Cant remember the company but I'm sure it consisted of members of Future Crew.

As long as someone other than Matrox writes the OpenGL ICD, I'll be happy.

No, the game was "Into The Shadows". It was supposed to be released, and the demo was hella cool (better and nicer even than today's 3D games, and it was a software engine!), but it was never released. These guys have a history of vapor. I hope against hope that they materialize, but this is their 4th time around.

I can't believe that somebody is still going "BS" all over Bitboys.
What is Shane Long doing there if he didn't see a break for them? Just cashing his salary until the sh** hits the fan next spring when it's discovered that they have no product?

I have to agree with Buuri. We have no clue about how there emulator tool works, and still there are people screaming that it's bullshit.

The idea behind the development with the emulator tool, is that drivers can be written and developped while designing is in progress. So you have stable and fast drivers when the chip really comes out.

Sounds actually like something that Matrox might think about. ;-)

I just read an interview with the bitboys about this new video card. They say they are working with some memory manufacturer to produce these video cards. They had tried to get some of the major manufacturers of video cards today to get them to manufacture their product last year and they were turned down by all of them, so supposedly they have made a contract with some memory manufacturer to produce these cards and supposedly they are now in production and will be released this quarter some time. According to them they are on schedule.

I think you have misunderstood something. They tried to sell their IP package to all (?) of the major players, but much like people here they didn't have much faith in Bitboys' emulators, and no-one bought Glaze3D.
They guys didn't give up but decided to show the world themselves, and Siemens/Infineon is now sampling their chips. There are no cards being made while they have said that they haven't seen a working silicon yet.

Don't know about the lot of you, but after the PowerVR flop with M3D, I'm happy with Matrox making their own chips... I know it's not the same thing but I'm sure there is a point in this somewhere
