  • flickering triangles on G400

When I run Matrox Tech Demo, 3D Benchmark 2000 or any game (for example
Quake 2, FIFA200) I see less or more flickering triangles without texture.
What's wrong? Is it hardware problem?

    My hardware and software configuration:
    G400 32MB DH
    Abit BE6
    Celeron 433
    64MB
    4,3GB Seagate
    not overclocked
    Win 98
    I tried 5.30 5.41 and 5.50 drivres.

The core of the chip is overheating! If you're O/C turn it down to default. If not attach a fan pronto!

Here's an excerpt from the Readme file of TR4-demo-The Times which might help a bit:

"If you notice texture drop out - white blank spots on menu text, objects, terrain and characters including Lara, you will need to lower the graphics resolution. The card has run out of texture memory."

      and:

"On some 3D cards, seaming may occur, drawing borders around polygons. This is most apparent when looking at the sky, which will have a tiled look to it. Turning off bi-linear filtering may help to fix this problem."

To get to the first option: What do you have your AGP Aperture Size set to? If 128 or 256, lower it to 64 or less and see if that helps.

To get to the second option: Turn of bi-linear filtering and set it to tri-linear filtering, or if possible, disable it.

Let us know if it was any of the above
