etc...???

Ad B, please post:
• Your machine specs completely.
• Your IRQ listing.
• Which Win9x are you using
• Which Dx version?
• If you've got a G400, did you flash the BIOS to it's latest?

So many unknown things...

You should be running 5.30 + the TurboGL.
5.41+AMD=no work
5.50=beta...for a reason
TurboGL will not work on most (all?) SS7 systems with 5.41 or 5.50.
5.50 has known opengl problems with the full ICD.
Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

Okay, you know that PD5.50 are beta drivers, so they can crash your PC without warning?

Plus your K6 2-333 doesn't use the 5.50 beta's that well... Use the PD drivers (with TGL or OGL) that are updated for your CPU.

But first uninstall these drivers using PD-Uninstaller

Then use PD 5.30 and update the TGL driver with TGL v1.00 as this is updated for your CPU.

Check here for updates on what games and CPUs are supported.

A complete list of your IRQs can be more usefull though, if you still have problems after this. Also how you setup your mobo's BIOS.

But try the above first and then we'll talk again

Oh, right.

But geez, the 5.50 driver is so fast!

Well, I'll do what you say, and see if it solves the problem.

But the ony thing is, I don't have enough RAM to use the Turbo GL ICD. Or will it work fine even though I have 64MB?

Anybody but me notice how many people are popping up with problems who have the Gigabyte mobo?? (I think this is the 3rd one I've seen today, on my foray out of The 'Box.)

Now I know as well or better than anyone the problems SS7 has generally... but is it possible that there's also a specific problem with the Gigabyte, a la the Abit thing??

Is this worth checking out???

Also, Ad B... I notice that you're overclocking your K6-2... congratulations, I couldn't even get mine to POST at 350...When I asked the reason why (c'mon, we were talking about increasing the bus speed by 5MHz), I was told that the 333MHz speed was set at 95MHz bus because the chip failed at 350. So there may be an inherent instability in the CPU that is made worse by overclocking it and then attempting to use 3DNow! instructions.

How does it work at rated clock speed??

Maybe Gigabyte only handels their G400s well? Then again ever seen that combo working with your own eyes?!?

-"Oh no sir, you need to use one of our G400 based boards for releiable operation with our MoBo. Please call back as soon as you have purchased one...Ummm I mean when you have a problem with it...Oh errrr...if you have a problem then. Yeh OK?"

I'm just gonna try the 5.3 driversand Turbo GL ICD.

About the K6-2, mine runs very stable. Well, before I installed the G400 :0)

I get a significant performance increase too :0)

Want to bet that you won't solve your problems by installing Win2k, but to add problems??

But okay, you go ahead and install Win2k...
Just don't come running to us when things get even worse !!

Okay Ad B

How can WE help you if YOU don't even take the time to read our replies??

I gave you a list of things to give us above, but you don't want to, you just give us what YOU think is necessary.

It's like in your other thread. Did you even READ the options we gave you to identify how you can see if your G400 is a MAX or not?? I for one think you didn't, but stare blindly at what your OC program tells you. And then you're in doubt again.

Okay, don't give us a list of your IRQs, don't listen to what we try to tell you. Just do as you wish and install goddamn Win2k and be done with it.

You'll be back with more problems...

Others could learn from this thread as well... In the positive way: "If you ask us anything, don't be as gd blindly as this guy was !!"
