g200 ramdac overclock

RAMDAC is NOT overclockable! If your talking about the core/mem or the PLL i have no idea with the g200. Never had one. Don't they run at like 90 core and 110 mem or something? I dont know. Someone help me out. But i KNOW the RAMDAC is not Overclockable, RAMDAC is what creates your different resolutions and refresh rates. This can not be changed.

BTW did i mention RAMDAC is not overclockable... hehe

Yea the Defualts for the G200 are 84.375Mhz for the Core and 112.5Mhz for the Mem....

I've gotten mine upto 110Mhz for the Core and 146Mhz for Mem... but with the 8Mb addon I can only get around 90Mhz for Core and 120Mhz for mem...

I think I have an average card though... I only add a fan to the factory HS...

Yeah, you don't wan tto overclock your RAMDAC. That is only used for generating frequency outputs for resolutions and refresh rates. Clocking it past spec will let you run high resolutions at higher refresh rates (assuming you have a huge monitor that can handle it), but will burn out the chip also.

It is possible to o/c the RAMDAC of the G200, if you void your warranty and hack the cards bios. But, as pointed out, unless you are needing a higher refresh rate for your high res (1600x1200) stuff, there is no need...

Just so there is no misunderstanding: G200s have two sets of clock timings - one for 16/32bpp (D3D) modes, and one for 8/24bpp modes.

And the RAMDAC register bloc handles *all* PLLs, not just the pixel clock.
