G400 dual mon help w/ WinNT

Hello all, I'm running WINNT sp4.0 and I'm having some trouble w/ the dual monitor settings. My first monitor is perfect, but my 2nd monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz only! I've changed all the refresh rate settings I could find, but the 2nd monitor is still 'stuck' at 60Hz!

What can I do???

hmmm ... it could be either a PnP config problem or your 2nd Head is configured to NTSC ...

In the monitor tab of PD you'll find a switch to toggle between monitor 1 & 2 ...
Make sure you have chosen the right kind of monitor and I recommend to use of of the standard monitor profiles given my Matrox.

Hi, both monitors are exactly the same (Dell MS80 or what not), and both are set to VESA setting on the PD monitor tab. The 2nd display is always set to 60Hz - I switched the monitor connections and the results were similar.

It seems to be a driver issue(?), but I already dloaded the newest driver available and still no go.

I have an Eye-Q 22" @ 85Hz on primary and a 21" Nokia @75Hz on secondary VGA using NT4 SP6 (both at 1280x1024x32bpp)

... wait a sec ... you'Re using SP4 ...

afaik you need at least SP5 to be Y2k safe ... maybe that's the root of your probs.

Hmmm...nope, upgraded to sp6, and problem still seems to persist - I don't understand. I set my desktop area to 2560x960, thus each monitor should be 1280x960 right? Why would the first monitor be ok, but the 2nd monitor be flaky??

Post the driver & bios revision numbers for your G400 ...

you probably need an update.
