    thanks for the input.
You folks have raised some good points.

Thundrchez: That's one reason I contemplated the voodoo3. Their drivers seem very Quake friendly (or is it that id is 3dfx friendly?), even with slower (older) processors. Plus, with the dual config, i think that'll help.

Bohrn: When I was still running my g200, I looked into a couple of new voodoo2

1000's when they were way on sale in the fall. by the time you make the investment, you are out $130 while you wait for rebates, so you might as well channel that cash into a current generation card. Hence, I ended up with the g400. So between voodoo 2 or 3, I'd go with the 3. (besides, voodoo3 actually gets bundled by OEM's with some buisness machines. Voodoo2 has one purpose, and one purpose only. Remember, the IT professionals are watching! )

Thanks again. I noticed no one mentioned ATI? I've always felt that, while they aren't the fastest, you get quite a few features for the money. And, they still support PCI. Any thoughts?

      Well kids, I did it.

I ordered the V3 2000. I figure for under 90 bucks, it won't be so bad.

I'll let you know how it works out.
