  • BP6, 2K with new drivers, no I/O being assigned

The title pretty much says it all. BP6, QQ BIOS, G400. Install the new drivers and upon reboot the card is disabled in the device manager. Upon further inspection, no I/O port addresses are being assigned and ACPI is no longer functional.

I see other BP6 users having success. Is there any special way to remove the old drivers?

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have a similar set up and after I inatalled the new drivers my system booted with the default VGA driver. Device manager reported a Matrox G400 but with a yellow error '!', the G400 had been allocated memory and an IRQ but was flaged as 'unable to start device'.

I have gone back to the w2k500 version :-(

(SP) should read 'installed' not 'inatalled ' :-)

        Mark -

I think it may have to do with using RC2. I have a similar setup (QQ Bios) but with Build 2195, and it installed and works fine.

That's funny - I was reading other comments elsewhere and just came back to mention RC2 being a problem to find LuckyG had beaten me to it ;-)

I'll just have to wait till next week when I can buy a final release of w2k.

Did you re-install win2k when your updated to qq bios? This is needed to enable all the new features.

Reinstalled Final (I was using RC2) and the new drivers and everything seems alright. Q3 and UT play, but the computer hangs periodically with the music still playing in the background.

This is the first time I have ever been able to use ANY 3D with this card. If I can get it working without the lockups, I'm ready to remove my V2's.

This may be the result of my NIC in PCI 0, I'll move it and see what happens.
