AGP-Problems + Overclocking

Hi, everyone !

I've got the following configuration:
AMD Athlon 500 Mhz, FIC SD11 Motherboard, Matrox Millennium G400 SH 32 MB, Drivers 5.50 Beta,128 MB SDRAM, 15 GB HD, Soundblaster PCI 128,Windows 98 (SE german) and DirectX 7.0a.

Overclocking with Powerstrip: from default 166 to 186 (only a test) with old CPu-Cooler (testing MGATweak soon).

O.k., now the questions: first: i have seen, that my apg data transfer is a 1x, how can i change in 2x (don't find any possibiltiy so far) ?
second: Does anyone have experience in Overclocking a G400 with old CPU-Pentium-Cooler, how far can I go with Powerstrip/Mgatweak ... ?

If no success with the patches, (for me it don't work) try changing agpfallback in registry to 1. this did it for me, now running agp 2x with win98

Your oc experience will vary from card to card and system to system.

As for AGP 2x, I suspect that the newest drivers (5.50) utilize it more. See my detailed post in another thread. Whether games take advantage of this enhanced capability, I don't know. Need some people to benchmark actual games with 1x and 2x and 5.41 and 5.50!!!

A simple ex-pentium-S fan fitted onto my vanilla G400 brought the card up to almost-G400 MAX speeds reliably (150/200). No glue just screws that fit onto the standard heatsink.

Some benchmarks:
Quake 3 1.15c, High-Q, Max detail, Bilinear, 32 bits 800x600:

Vanilla G400 default clock: 40.3 FPS
Vanilla G400 o'clocked 150/200: 44.2 FPS

You can change to AGP x2 by using the one of the patches here, although I have not heard of anyone who has noticed much difference.

I dont know how high you can o/c it, but keep going until you get some form of screen corruption.

You seem to have a nice spec so if it works, just leave it alone
