WIN2K drivers and build 2183 (RC3)

I've read several posts in here stating that the new W2K drivers won't work with RC2. What about RC3 (build 2183). I thought I would try the new driver before I actually
got the final version of W2K (2195?), but
all I get is a black screen (not even the BSOD!) right as the desktop is about to appear. Reloaded 5.00 drivers and everything
is ok now. Is it the OS version or do I have some other problem ?... rob_b

Most of the changes from RC3 to RTM were supposed to be fairly inconsequential, but at this, nobody is really going to take problems on RC3 seriously.

Did you install RC3 clean or as an upgrade?

Well, the first beta drivers were made for RC3 and the current betas are for Build 2195.

At least the driver version has 2195 in it.

Hi folks,

I'm using W2K RC3 (Build 2183) and the new Matrox Drivers right now. No problems so far.

Even the OGL screensavers are working.

Thanks Jupp. That pretty much answers my question. Compton, i don't know what a
FIC VA503+ is , so I guess i don't have one.
I also noticed the 2195 in the driver build
number (rebooted in safe mode). That's what made me think i had to have it. Rob-b

Same here: RC3 (2183) and no problems with ANYTHING at all whatsoever. RTM IS RC3 with some code turned off for the release... I wouldn't worry reinstalling just because of a 2 weeks difference in builds.
