Yep, tried them and after 5min had the older 5.50.005 back in. They locked up my system in 3D every time

Well the drivers are basically stable, they don't crash my system...
though with my G200 UT demo all the textures are black, all I see is lights and weapons... I think if I get my full version it'll be fine though...

other than that they seem to be solid.. I haven't heard any claims of big increases, so there isnt a rush to install these... better off going with what you know works..

I hear they aren't great with *non-Intel* chipsets.

I'm running a PIII on a BX board, and they have been great for me. You should probably avoid them.

No problems here, that I realize yet of course I haven't tried to many OpenGL games with, or without, the TurboGL. DirectX appears stable. There is now a new string in the Registry which I'm unsure of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display\0000\Settings\CPU] "AGPFlags" is set to "-1". Does anyone have any idea what this does? Just curious and all that!

            It sets AGP to 2x.

Looks okay on my PII/G200/Win98SE. Didn't notice much difference (haven't ran any benchmarks) The only problem I had was with the SOF demo. On running that I now get rainbow textures. Granted I didn't use the PD uninstaller... Time to reinstall?

              Cheers

I just replaced my SOYO SY5EMA+ (SS7) and K63-400 with a Abit BE6 and a PIII-550!!! I did a fresh install of Windows Millenium Beta 2 and immediately installed the latest beta drivers. I did a few quick bios ctweak but didn't really tweak that much.....some of this stuff isn't in my SS7 bios! Anyways I loaded up Quake 3 and it popped up just fine, ran a timedemo of demo001 and I think I got 42fps on the High Quality. I was never able to get past 40fps on my K63-400! (My K63-400 was at 124mhz fsb with a multiplier of 3.5 totallying 433mhz). While right now my 550 is only at 100mhz FSB and 5.5multiplier. Anyone know if 42fps on High Quality demo1 is a good score?

Oh yeah for all you slow K6 users. Install the latest beta and then take the G400ICD.DLL out of the 5.30 or the 5.41 drivers and still this file into your \Windows\System directory.

If you would like to know more driver combinations post in this thread if you would like me to email ya. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I will not be doing any more driver combinations for the K6 because my ancient K6 mobo is gathering dust in my closet. Look out fellow Intel freaks because I'm going to do some driver combos for you!

I've put them into my Abit BM6 running a celery 366@550 and once I fixed my random lock-ups (tray apps, I think it was the sidewinder control panel) it seems to run sweet as a nut.

UT even runs in OGL, albeit in slideshow mode 8-)

                      I have an ASUS P5A MOBO and a K6-3 450,128mb ram and G400.

The latest drivers (5.50.010) are the stabilist I have used yet, also the fastest.

However, if you play Starseige Tribes you will want to use TurboGL as there is less texture corruption...

                      Go for it, install.

Try this if you have a G200 and you're having trouble with UT (black screen / no lightmaps):
                        - type 'preferences' in the console, this will bring up the advanced options menu
                        - go to rendering/direct3d and set multitexture to false
                        - go back to the game and enjoy!
                        It works for me...

Just in case the following is your problem do try my driver pack from www.paraknowya.de!

                          You're running a G400 card in a Win9x system and:

                          - OpenGL, the ICD so none TurboGL apps hang after some time

                          - Your 2D display driver is an older version than the new 5.50.010 drivers

                          - You want to have a smaller driver pack to d/l because you really just need the G400 drivers

Try it it won't hurt! =)

                          regards
                          PKY
