Two Questions. what is the cpu and memory running at stock, and what is the lilely overclocking range that i will get this thing to? 130% its interesting to have to deal with %....

Overclocking my G400 MAX
First Love:- Lite-On FS020 enclosure w/4 120mm Panaflos and soon a 172mm Nidec
- MSI 694D Pro w/ BIOS 1.6
- 2x800E cC0 Pentium 3 w/ 2xVolcanoII
- SyncMAX(NEC) PC166 VCM SDRAM 4x128mb w/ CAS = 1
- nVidia Quadro2 Pro, but Matrox at heart
- And other non-important stuff like hard drives and a dvd drive
- Pineapples

Definitley use MGATweak. You can get the current version (beta 1.20)from the download section at matroxusers.com.
Mine is now running with MGATweak:
System PLL: Fo=499.50MHz
Dividers: GCLK= 2.50
MCLK= 2.25
WCLK= 2.50
which gives: ~200MHz Core and 222MHz Memory
I know the memory on my card would run up to 229MHz, but then I start getting some slight -very very slight- artifacts, so I put it back down a little. The core went fine up to 208MHz. But I'm satisfied with the current settings ;-)
Happy OC'ing.

so far...no.
I'm running with the stock heatsink/fan. Only, it's a brand new card. It's looks really stable, even at 208MHz (only the memory does not follow well beyond 227MHz). There is an 4.72inch intake fan in the front of the case, it probably helps a little.

Check the memory settings. Mine are the default ones. Here is the list from top to bottom: 3/3/4/9/4/2/slow/2/2/51.6/1.6/(2945)
(can't change the last figure). I haven't played with them so far... The only thing I did was push the PLL clock and change dividers. After experimenting a bit, the card is now running with PLL at 567MHz and dividers 2.50/2.50/2.50, which gives 226.80MHz across the board (mem+core!). I'll try it with 3dmark and post the results. :-)

hey Kurt, are you sure your card´s core is running at that speed? check 3dmark2000 to if the fillrate is above 335MP which is what i get at 180/225.
say this becuase i´m pretty sure MGATweak top syspll is around 450mhz and that on it starts decreasing again.

leporis,
I am afraid things don't look so good at in the high MHz. I did a bench with 3dmark2000 at core+mem 234MHz (PLL 702MHz, divs 3.0) but got a disappointing 2656. Maybe it's the heat, or the timings, or whatever...
Right now, I am back at 200 core/ 222 mem. That gave me a score of 2979, but only 323MT. Sorry, got more tweaking to do ;-)

Right, I got it running at 200/250.
Using these settings:
2.5, 2.0, 2.5 Dividers.
With the System PLL clock at 500 Mhz.
SGRAM settings(from top):
3
3
4
9
3
1
Fast
1
1
1
1.6
1.6
4033
Cool, huh?
The od artefact appears now and then, but I don't have heat probs.
Oh, and how does the Memory Clock Base settings affect perfomance? I've got mine set on defaults, as you can see :0)

Ad B,
If you care to know, I play Q3 at core 234MHz and mem 234MHz. (PLL 702MHz, dividers 3.0). I ran a 3dmark2000 bench on it, but it gave a score (2656) lower than the current setting I use (core 200 mem 222)(score: 3023).
The memory performance seems to decrease past 225/230MHz (fill rate goes down to ~270MT). I am trying to find the right settings right now (core 200 mem 240).
