  • win2k, G400/IRQ

Im running final version of win2k.
    on
    Abit bp6
    dual 366@533
    G400 vanilla DH 32mb
    sb live value
    ata66 quantum plus KA

    my G400'sIRQ is 128

    is this normal ??

I think that is why Im having problems with Bus MAstering
for most games I have to disable bus mastering. I.e. UT, homeworld, revenant.

Has anyone seen this, does anyone know how to fix it.

BTW using latest BP6 and G400 Bios & drivers.

    thanks

    Mr_SpIcEz,

That IRQ seems a little high...there are only 16, if you count 0.

    Maybe memory is 128?

Careful. Windows 2000 handles IRQ's differently. While I haven't seen IRQ addresses quite as high as 128, I have seen IRQ's above 16.

36 Adaptec AHA-2940U2/U2W PCI SCSI Controller
        56 Intel(R) PRO/100+ PCI Adapter

NT 4 does a similiar thing, I remember reading that it has something to do with how interrupts are virtualised on MPS hardware - NT can service the interrupt on any processor.

out of curiosity, which HAL has been installed on your system?

To find this go into the device manager and look under "computer".
