"maybe this just proves how stable asus baords "

I read that asus have had to recall their dual processor boards for a factory modification to get them working with ACPI in Windows 2000. Someone said the current turn around is about 4 weeks!

Well, as long as it's working, we're not trying to help you get rid of anything.
Not that there's much room anyway, for you don't have an IRQ free

let me guess, you have your sound and ethernet in PCI slots 4 and 5...
              System: P4 2.4, 512k 533FSB, Giga-Byte GA-8PE667 Ultra, 1024MB Corsair XMS PC333, Maxtor D740x 60GB, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, PCPower&Cooling Silencer 400.

Capture Drives (for now): IBM 36LZX 9.1, Quantum Atlas 10KII 9.1 on Adaptec 29160

K7m-rm board is microatx and only has 3 pci slots... i have my ethernet card away from the agp slot and my sound card in the middle.

in POST, it says ethernet/usb on irq 10, and multimedia device on irq 9.... i guess the sound blaster emulation is blocking things... go figure...

                i want some beer.

Do you use/need the SB emulation? That's only for DOS games, so you might want to remove (or REM it out if you sometimes need it)the line in your in autoexec.bat that call the au30dos.com. That will also free more rescorces for Windos, always a good thing.

                      Glad to help!

SB Emulation works well in DOS. But many have had trouble with it running under Win. Of course I never had that problem Yeah, only because I never used it .

It's because you have acpi enabled in your bios. It is a way of routeing IRQ's though a single IRQ (nine) so that their would never be an irq conflict again.
If you have an acpi os installed, i wouldn't worry.
