We've all read the threads about not being able to get AGP 2x with our G400s. I couldn't get mine to run 2x for love nor money. I did the little bracket bendy thing that everyone suggests, i took the aperture to 256MB but still it crashed when trying 2x.
It seemed to me that the bendy bracket treatment didn't go far enough so i thought i would give something else a go. I noticed that when i stuck my card into the agp slot it would not push right down so i cut a very small piece from the bottom of the fixing bracket to allow it to sink further into the case. Then i undid the nuts that secure the bracket to the card and enlarged the holes in the bracket by .5mm. I then put the bracket back on the card but left the nuts loose and put the card very firmly into my AGP port, i secured the bracket to the case and then gently tweaked up the nuts between the card and the bracket. I did not do them up too tight so as not to move the card from it's cosy position. As far as i can see it worked. the systems been stable at 2x for a couple of hours where before it would crash about 10 minutes into a session and then repeatedly after that.
