Does anyone know why agp video cards(i have both a G400max and a Geforce)show up in windows 2000 as pci video cards in the device manager,i tried several games(quake3,freespace2,half life,etc...)and i notice that opengl games run a little slower(5/10%)than in windows 98,this could be due to the drivers or a bug in windows, any other ideas?,thanks.

This should be normal since AGP is still a kind of PCI... I would not worry about this... it's only identification... As for speed, remember that win2K is not designed for games, you have new drivers and no TurboGL, so 5 to 10% less is pretty darn good if you ask me!

It should matter that windows be able to correctly recognize what type of video card you have, since the way win2000 works is by running any application through the o/s,no software gets direct access to the sistem hardware(win98 let's the software do this),besides microsoft has been informed of the problem and will be issuing a patch, thanks.note to self...
Assumption is the mother of all f***ups....
Primary system :
P4 2.8 ghz,1 gig DDR pc 2700(kingston),Radeon 9700(stock clock),audigy platinum and scsi all the way...
