  • Lost capacitor on the G400 card?

I had suffer by serious game crash issues these days. I got a Athlon-750 system, G400 16MB DH, SBLive! value, DC-390 SCSI card.
I spent a month to isolate the problem, and the suspects are power and G400 now.
(Live! itself is on AMD's compability list,
    amd DC-390 uses AMD's chip)
In fact, I found that there's NO CAPACITOR on the back of the chip, which there at least should be SOME. The picture on the magazine has 6~8 on it.
So, are there someone here have no capacitor nor problem at all? I wish to know because if the answer is YES, than I need not to send it back to the vendor.
    Thanks!

I once ripped off(by accident)a capacitor from a G200, didn't seem to cause any ill effects...

Although the SB Live may be on the compatability list, there is an issue of drivers. I found that there was a problem until I ensured I was running the ver 3 liveware with the latest patch, since then it hasn't given me any problems.

From what I read in a forum, the capacitors are still there on the 16 megs board put simply placed on the front side of the card... so there would not be less capacitors on these cards.

          Hmmm...
I borrowed a MX-300 from a classmate, and it hangs even faster than Live! Almost crash immidiately after 3D screen activated.
I'm using Live!ware 3 from web, and latest driver, the problem still exist.
          I'm sure that I didn't have shared IRQ of my card (USB:5, G400:9, Live:11, SCSI:10).
Then, I'll go for a better power supply for my system. Thanks!
