Haven't got this problem. What else have you got running in the background?

I was running 5.30 cos nothing worked well since on my k6-2-500. I tried 5.52 with my new Athlon and whilst q3a would play it would stutter, so I went back to 5.30.

However, I did a complete fresh install of W98SE and 5.52 now works perfectly.

I also have a Logitech cordless wheelmouse if thats any help.

The PowerDesk 5.41 CPU-usage has nothing to do with Logitech Mouseware 8.62. Maybe it has some but the same problem occurs without Mouseware. And it isn't just a SS7-problem, cos I've ABit BX6/Celeron450 with that problem with pDesk 5.41. With WinSystem98 I can monitor the CPU and with 5.41 the CPU-usage went 1%, 20%, 40% ,1% and so on with 1 second interval. So it's only a pDesk 5.41 problem, not mouseware or SS7.
I've been using pDesk 5.30 1.5 months and I hope pDesk 5.52 works better.

Ok, thanks for the feedback on it guys. Like I said, the logitech thing was just some speculation that originally popped up. Just trying to find out if there was any veracity to it. Doesn't sound like there is... It is something in the PDKernel.dll file, though. Wether you run PDesk at startup or not, it loads every time DirectX is initialized and causes the CPU usage. If you have any problems with the newer drivers causing stuttering on any platform, try hybridizing the drivers and it should fix it.
