If the reg hack did nothing at all, it probably went to the wrong key. Look at your registry, and look at that reg hack. Make sure the last branch of the key is the same (0000, 0001, etc). If it went to 0000, and your G400 is set up at 0001, it wont do a thing.
At the very least, it should either go into 2x, or crash. If it does nothing at all, something else is up...
Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s
IF the registry hack didn't do anything, then as stated earlier your card is probably on 0001 or 0002 etc instead of 0000 which is what the hack works on.
Start regedit, and go to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display
You'll probably see a couple entries.. one with 0000 and the other 000whatever
edit the second one.. it'll be the one with more keys in it
Click on the CPU entry, and add the key AGPflags and set the value to -1
reboot, and you should be running 2x
Grego: How do you know it´s still working in AGP1x? (Pcilist, Sisoft, Powerstrip?)
Or you are asuming it´s still working at AGPx1 because you don´t notice any performance improvement? If so, welcome to the wonderfull world of AGP... With 32 Mb Video RAM, I doubt any game today will need that memory so it needs AGP texturing. So, No AGP, AGPx1, AGPx2, it just doesn´t matter.
Be aware that some Super7 boards are not working that good with agpx2.
Thanks for all the input, I will try them as soon as I get back to my computer again.
I use the program pcilist to find out whether I'm running agpx1 or x2. Skycriesmary (hope I got it right ;-) ) you can get this program from the download section here on murc. I really look forward to changing my registry.

Grego

Well I have now tried checking the registry, and the hack had done its job properly, that is adding the string AGPflags -1 but it still only runs at x1 when I check with pcilist, maybe I should just lean back and wait for the next driver release and see if that changes anything?
Well it cannot change the fact that this is one hell of a card!!

I also have the same Asus P5A rev1007 mobo and here's what i did to enable AGP2X for my OEM G400 16Mb.
Goto:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ALi\ALi AGP Driver\AGPDataRate and set value from "0" to "2"
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display\0000\Settings\CPU\AGPFlags set to "-1"
This will enable AGP2X. Not to many know that although the registry hack is already making the G400 itself running at AGP2X, but its the mobo that is stopping it from screaming at AGP2X due to the ALi AGP settings. I'm not so sure of the case with MVP3 mobos.
Anyway, anyone know what are the best settings for FrameBufferSize (currently value is "C") and GATMode inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ALi\ALi AGP Driver\ ??

Hey thanks a lot Song, wouldn't you know it, it works, I also had to change the string forceagp from 0 to 1 in the ali entry, but I would never have found the entry without your post - THANX this is one happy little camper!!!
