PowerStrip v2.64 + Win2k 5.03 drivers?

Has anyone here tried using PowerStrip to exploit the high refresh rate potential of your new G400 card and monitor? I was thinking this might be a good idea for those of us who were holding out on upgrading to Win2k until Matrox included the "Monitor Settings" tab in Powerdesk.

No I havent but my Powerstrip wont let me
overclock. Should ver.2.64 be like this with a G400 DH or is it just on my computer?

I've used it with both the last beta and the current released drivers. Seems to work fine. Overclocking works as well (at least up to my Max's limits- the same as under Win98, too).

Ok, I finally upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional today, but I'm still disappointed with the Live!Ware for Windows 2000 beta that was leaked (it's castrated compared to LW3 in Win9x) and I'm disappointed with the current 5.03 G400 drivers as they don't have the "Monitor Settings" tab in Powerdesk which is the main thing I was waiting for.

That aside, I am now using 1152x864 @ 32-bit (TrueColor) at 100hz refresh rate with my Hitachi CM751 (SuperScan Elite 751) monitor.

Before PowerStrip, I was only able to get 75hz refresh rate. The extra 25hz is quite an improvement, but I have noticed one problem: It shrinks the screen when I up the refresh to 100hz, and the top of the screen is somewhat cut off.

So, it seems EnTech Taiwan still needs to do a little work in improving their PowerStrip product for Windows 2000...

If you're not dual booting, or even if you are, just adjust your monitor settings (with your monitor's controls) so the top of your display is where it belongs. It's not unusual for your display to get out of whack when adjusting the refresh rate.

Fix it in hardware.

If the image isn't centered, go to the Screen Adjustment dialog box, and place the mouse pointer anywhere in the Position panel.

When the pointer changes from an arrow to a hand, hold the right mouse button down and then center the image on screen just by moving the mouse around on the mouse pad.

(If you get into trouble, just hit the escape key.)

Also in the same dialog box, try something like 98Hz or 102Hz to see if the geometry is better with your monitor than 100Hz.
