G400MAX @ 89Mhz AGP...Does it work?

I have heard from many that the G400 can run @ 89Mhz AGP w/ no problems...gaming, DVD, etc. all without a hitch. Is anyone out there actually doing this successfully? I want to run my 550E on a BX @ 133FSB w/ the G400MAX. Anyone?

Were you able to run Quake 3 or other games? If you run @ 133 do the drivers automatically reduce to AGP 1x?

I´m running my PIII-500E @ 667MHz with the G400-Max @ 89MHz @ 2*AGP

Unreal Tournament, Quake3 no problems

It should work... it works for me @83 MHz and AGP is 2x.

Some people can run their boards at 89 MHz. Many people have seen problems at this speed.

There isn't anyone here who can predict what your board will do. The only way you will find out is if you try. Unfortunately, as is the case with all overclocking, it's kind of a "luck of the draw" situation.

Don't expect the board to function properly at AGP 2x when the AGP slot is clocked so high. It may, but most likely it will not. If you have problems with AGP 2x--which in my experience manifest themselves as lockups or crashes to the desktop--try AGP 1x.

Well, I have mine at 94MHz, my FSB is 140MHz.

It will need to be AGP 1x mode. Your luck on AGP speed will vary though, some cards can do higher, some lower.

With forced AGP 1x it almost certainly works. I can't even rin 83mhz without 1x. But 1x, 2x, it shouldn't matter much.

My 400 32 SH cranked along for a week at 102.5 until I noticed the error. It didn't crash any more than W98 normally does.
