  • DVD on 2nd Monitor in multi-monitor mode

How do I get the DVD player to play on the second monitor in multi monitor mode??

Also is there any way for DVD-Max to work with a 2nd Monitor instead of only with a TV.

    Cheers

I've asked this question several times before and I'm still waiting for an answer. I don't know if it's a hardware limitation or a software one.

As of now, there is no way to have DVDMax on the second monitor, only a TV. Also, there is no way to obtain DVD output on a second monitor in multi-monitor mode. The DVDMax problem is, from what I've heard, a driver issue.

This is supposedly a driver issue and something that will be added at some point but it is not a top priority.

Thanks Ant, I didn't want to include the part about priorities and being able to add it at some point. This was all hearsay from my point of view. I am afraid, I am unable to speak for Matrox.

Have to agree with zman. Matrox broshures are really misleading on the dualhead part. I actualy bought the G400 to leverage the VGA input of my wide-screen TV. I am very disapointed that both Clone and DVDMax don't work on a second monitor. The VGA signal is simply much better than both composite and svideo. Chance of this being supported with the final W2K driver?

I think if a driver can resolve the issue then Matrox either needs to issue the driver or change there web page as not to mislead anymore people. From reading the G400 web pages, there is no reason why one wouldn't think the G400 could run DVD or Direct 3D apps on either monitor. Come on Matrox, get off your butts and make a decision

I have to agree with everyone out there who thinks taht this should be a required feature. I am also someone who bought the G400 expecting to be able to use the secondary vga out as a full screen dvd display and was sorely disapointed. I suspected my card was broken for a while before coming to the conclusion that it only supported video out DVD MAX. Pleae Matrox can you resolve this issue in the next driver relase and make all us DVD playing Dual Headers very happy?

I am running dual monitor with my G400Max in Win2k. Since Win2k implements dual monitor as one big extended monitor, I have set it to something like 2580x1028 for the two monitors. This is not exactly what I want, but, a side benefit of this implementation is that DVD now plays in both monitors!
