  • Matrox DVD player Skipping Inital Menu on DVD

I have a DVD which on startup asks the user which format you wish to view in either 16:9 or Pan and scan. When I try and play this on the Matrox Ravisent DVD player it Skips the menu choice and goes directly to the next menu choice which is audio format. I have tried another player (winDVD) and it does not bypass the question. Why don't I use WinDVD then you ask? Because the output to TV does not work properly (big green flashy band on the bottom). How do I get the Matrox DVD player to not bypass the first question on the DVD? Can anyone sugest another software DVD player that works properly with the TV OUT feature on the Card?

    thanks,
    Brendin

Wait for the Matrox player to start, and see if you can set the Camera setting from there. This is just a guess. The only movie I've seen that had both aspect ratios was Blade Runner, and it had one format on each side.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Ravisent has never worked properly software or hardware. The Cinemaster software playback software that is included with the G400 works perfectly. I have heard that it does not have all the features of some other ones, but it is entirely stable and I have not seen any bugs.

You better have one hell of a processor though for software. I use to have a PII-350 and it was not enough. Athlon 600 is more than enough. I have the Marvel g400 running 5.52. and the SBLive running Liveware 3.

Before you run the program, delete all running applicationg (Ctrl-Alt-Del), except for explorer.

Clean the damn disk too (smudges will cause skips)
