  • G400MAX and AGP4x

You want the real answer or MY answer?

MY answer is... no, because no memory currently available can provide data to your AGP slot at AGP 4x speeds, therefore making it impossible to actually verify that you can get those transfer rates.

The real answer is you could get the latest Sandra or something like that and check it out.

You'd need PC800 RAM to make full use of AGP4x which is more than expensive nowadays and for a readout of your actual system state, I recommend PCI List from www.entechtaiwan.com ...

Or you can get one of those prototype Athlon motherboards that supports PC266 DDR SDRAM. I still havn't managed to get my hands on one, but I will NEVER go with a chip made by the king of vaporware(Intel). If you can find a P3-1GHz and get it within a month, I'd be surprised and impressed.

        G400MAX and AGP4x

Is there a way to see if my G400 MAX is capable of a 4x agp tranfer?
I already have the "4a" on my box and my motherboard is ASUS P3C-E (4x agp pro slot)

I know where 1 of the 1 GHz Intel processors is! But I couldn't get to it without having to fight off the dog. He's an !ntel employee. We haven't been on good terms since I built an Ahtlon system in January. I guess that just goes to show how much of a friend he really was!?! I have three !ntel based systems and decide to build one Athlon, and now he treats me like I'm the "scum of the earth". Talk about an insecurity complex. Heh,heh he actually sold some of his company stock so he could buy some RD-RAM for his new system. ROTFLOL!
