Video Error when shutdown the pc !!!!

I have installed a G400 Sh 16 mb in a new pc and, when shut down the pc appear a blue screen with a VMM error and not shut down.
If i don't install the G400 drivers the pc shut down, restart and restart in dos mode, but after installing the drivers the pc don't works good.
What i must to do ?

...and especially operating system. Win98SE has a know problem with shutdowns that MS released an update for...

HD Samsung 8.4 GB
Matrox G400 16 MB Single Head (IRQ11)
Sound Blaster 128 PCI (IRQ9)
Internal Modem (IRQ5)
Win98 SE

This VMM error, would that possibly be Fatal Exception in 0E (memory address) VXD VMM(01) + 00012FEB?

For I had that one as well, (still have it occasionally). And I disabled dual head for it, but when it's occuring on a SH as well, maybe it's something in the drivers?

SOLVED !!!!
I have solved the problem simply uninstalling win98SE and installing win98 First Edition.

Now it's allright.

Instead of go ahead, Bill Gates is going back !!!!

me too,

i had random lockup problems that only appered after switching to 98se. returning to first addition fixed the problem.
