To compare the garbage from the SS7 days to the current Athlon chipsets(yes, there IS more than one chipset for the Athlon), is more than a little unfair. The same way that AMD went from production problems and somewhat slower chips than Intel to virtually no production problems, better supply, and faster chips shows that a company CAN change for the better in a very short ammount of time. I've always loved my AMD chips, going back to my first 386DX-40 from AMD. I will definately say that the FIC motherboards have a rather bad history. I found and worked around the problems with the SS7 boards from FIC, and found them acceptable, but the FIC SD11 is a complete piece of garbage.
