The problem could come from DVD-ROM. Toshiba DVDROMs with old firmware version have less compatibility with dual-layered DVD disc. Check out the following URL to determine whether your firmware is the latest.

The jerky picturs and skippy frames have gone!! I was amaized about the diffrience.Clear picture, stable, and no problems. Thank you Brian R. I think we all need to remove that sucker "DIVICORE Matrox Dvd Player V 1.0 from our PCs. Someone has to report this to the Matrox tech support. They need to upgrade that sucker. Otherwise, we have to buy the WinDvd 2000. I have a quiestion to WayneHu

After BIOS post, it starts to boot Windows. At this time, press F8 quickly, and you can see a Boot Menu. Select MS-DOS Prompt(should be be 6) and it just enters the DOS 7.x command prompt and won't enter Windows.

Then, of course, run the BATCH file...
I remembered the program would automatically search the DVD-ROM drive.

Note: Don't do it under MS-DOS Prompt of Windows. It doesn't work under the Protected Mode.

I too was about to give up on DVD playback on the G400, until I found the very latest version of PowerDVD.

That works like a charm. No problems, provided DX7's installed. Tried it with my G400 MAX, G200, and a V3-2000. All work fine.

          Just my $0.02
