If you are refering to the tweak utility from matrox, STOP USING IT coz it will force to 1x.
Which motherboard are u using ? Not all motherboard chipsets are able to go 4x.
By default the drivers 5.30 or even 5.52 will set it to 2x.
You will need to change registry key to enable 4x. Refer to previous threads about how to go about changing the registry.
Regards.
im using intel cc820 that supports 4x... im changing my mobo tom to p3v4x... but anyway how can disable the tweak utility? so that i can run 2x or more
thnx

I have not used the tweak utility before.
Anyway if you know how to modify registry, under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display\0000\Settings\CPU
AGPFlags= -2
This will switch it into 4x. Or AGPFlags= -1 will put it in 2x.
Backup your registry before changing and pls don't hold me responsible for any damage
Frankly speaking, i don't see any performance difference between 2x & 4x.
You might want to reconsider changing to p3v4x as it's based on VIA Apollo chipset. There are a few threads about VIA chipset problems with G400. You might want to refer to this http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum5/HTML/008445.html
