G400TV or G400+RR-G?

I'm shopping for a card for a new system, and
checked out prices at pricewatch. The G400TV retails for around $260, while a G400 dual head + a RR-G total about $250. So, what am I missing? It seems like the G400+RR-G is a no brainer because of the added flexibility of being able to use 2 monitors instead of 1 monitor + 1 TV. How would this combo work... could I plug in 2 monitors and a TV simultaneously, then switch the 2nd display between monitor and TV via software?



Also, do people expect prices to drop in the near future with the recent announcement of the G450?

The Marvel will allow you to output to 1 moni and 1 TV. The G400 will allow you to output to 2 moni's or 1 moni and 1 TV.

With the G400/RRG combo, you'll also get 16m more ram and Ulead MSPRo 5.x Ve rather than Avid.

Thanks! But I'm still confused as to why retailers sell the combo cheaper than the single card. I'll check to make sure the retailers are still including software.

One reason for the price difference would be the BOB(Break Out Box) that comes with the Marvel that you don't get with the RR-G...

Just to clarify, both prices I quoted before were for 16M, not 32. The TV card is $262 at Monarch (I've actually seen better prices locally!), a G400 dual head is $110 (gogocity.com) and the RR-G is $135 (PCNation). These don't include shipping, which is about $10/card. The cheapest 32M dual head is about $30 more, so that combo would total close to $300 when you include shipping.

You should search the desktop videa forum where this has been talked aboout several times. Some people experience some quality problems on some channels with the internal tuner on the RR. The Marvel's tuner is external so isn't as easily affected by the electronic noise inside the computer.
