Now we start getting somewhere, Ronnie.

I think there must be something wrong with your system, because usually the G400 series is faster.

We have managed to solve a lot of problems similar to yours (sub-par performance) and hence I think we could track it down on your system also and provide you a solution that makes you a happy G400 user.

    ...

Are you willing to let us help you ?

    Cheers,
    Maggi

        ronnie,

Try reading the forum survival guide, it might explain the comments you are receiving from the other MURCer's.

        Heres a snip....

"First of all, this is a user-to-user technical support forum, dedicated to Matrox Graphics videocard products."

If you want to discuss performance of ATI products go to one of there forums. If you want to slag off Matrox products go to any non-Matrox forum.

Basically go away unless you have something relevant or constructive to say.

Stuck with 6 G400s? Obviously an IRQ conflict!

BTW, Ronnie, about the image quality being a cover for poor 3D performance, I wonder what poor performance you are talking about.

And for the latest ATI drivers (probably aptly named "Special Purpose Drivers for Improved Image Quality"), are they the ones who solve the one-year old icon corruption bug (Photoshop, IE5, Outlook...) ?

Did anyone read ronnie's earlier post right and check his link?

                http://www.pcpitstop.com/trends.asp
Go down to where it says..Video Display Driver Vendors Matrox 6% , ATI 26%
Did ronnie even read this page? I doubt it...

Here's what it says on top:

                "Disk Space

The following chart shows how full the drives are on PCs visiting our site, based on disk free space. There were 3790 PCs in our database with 9931 disk drive partitions when this data was selected on 3/10/00. (Some large hard disks are divided into smaller 'drives' called partitions.) Of those 9931 partitions, 64.4% had plenty of room left, 31.1% were starting to cut it close, and 4.5% had less than 10% free space left. Amazingly, this is almost unchanged from our earlier beta test data!. The average amount free was 62%, up from 59.2% last time.
                "

                And here's the results:
"For 3288 PC configurations in our database as of3/8/00, there were 3850 display drivers identified. The % by vendor is as follows:"

So, what does it say?? Only that the 26% of ATI users had much more diskspace free...

Trolling, and not even knowing what to use sad

                Jord.

                btw, troll buying.

125.00 what? You can have my 125 marbles. Might be giving you more fun than you've ever had before

Not exactly, Jord. The beginning is about disk space, but the part about video drivers, says that there are more people out there with ATI than with anything else (probably mostly due to corporate users).

Which doesn't exactly explains why the Fury runs faster on Ronnie's machine either...

Please, Ronnie, could I have a bit more meaningless benchmarks ?

I can't be arsed to go over to the old thread.
As for the graphic quality being better than the G400 I think you need glasses mate. I've seen the Ati and it don't look good to me.
Did you ever give us your system specs and irq's etc so we could solve the problem for you?

Ronnie, it's great that you are happy with your card (although I had that same card, and thought even my G200 was a better card).

But it was made clear to you last time you came trolling that it was not going to be tollerated. If you have Matrox questions, or something constructive to offer, please do. Thus far, you have done neither. It seems like your only purpose is to (a)pointlessly flame bait or (b)prove to yourself that you picked the right hardware (cause your not going to prove it to anyone here).

Go read the forum survival guide as suggested, and either follow it, or find another forum to troll.
