  • Windows Millenium RC0 and G400MAX problem

    Hi
I have a problem with my G400MAX and Windows Millenium Edition RC0.
The problem is that when I boot and come into Windows it only works for a couple of seconds before it reboots or freezes.
I have the latest G400MAX drivers for Win9x.
I also have latest 4.02 VIA AGP Driver. I have tried with several different AGP and G400 drivers but always get the same result. I have tried the AGP driver in Turbo and Normal mode.
My motherboard is a VA-503+ v1.2A. I got 128MB PC100 RAM and 128MB AGP Apeture size in BIOS. Using AGP 1X in BIOS. Beta 2 of Windows ME worked fine btw.

Ok, first off, keep Millennium issues to betanews. Since it is most likely a problem with Millennium, file a bug report.

I agree - the drivers work fine under Win 98 - most of us don't even have Millenium yet (I never will as I'm very happy with Win 2K). You must deduce from this that since the drivers aren't working properally under Milennium that Microsoft have mucked something up.
What do you want a signature for?

When hasn't MS mucked something up? No assumptions necessary.

Your problem is a file named kernel32.dll and it´s in c:\windows\system folder.

Damn, MS should have stopped milking the DOS cow long time ago. 64 bit cpu´s are on the horizon and someone still has the nerve to release a 16-bit based OS.
