Need a suggestion

A friend has asked me for a computer.
We have done a bit of search, and choosen the component to use.

But, before I buy them, I wanted to know how much they are compatible and the drivers to install, in wich order and so on.


Configuration (most notable components):
AMD Athlon 700
Asus K7V
Matrox G400 DH 32
Win 98 SE

Has anybody suggestions?

Well, whenever I build myself a new box, I just connect all the mobo and processor stuff, then just stick in the video card and install the operating system. Once that is up and running, you can get the latest drivers for the video card, and then get all the drivers for your other devices as well, and proceed to install them individually.

This is a sort of long way, but it really helps you to figure out where your problem(s) begin, if you are so unlucky to have them. If you are lazy or don't have enough time, just stick everything in there together and hope for the best, it will all work out in the end.
