there are Several methods, some more elagant than others... I'll list a few that come to my mind...
the Obvious, Thermal Epoxy, mix up a batch put a thin film on both the HS and Chip, let it set fer a few and it'll be there for a while... pretty good heat transfer.
FragTape, or Thermal tape, sticky tape that transfers heat decently...
Thermal Paste and Zip Ties, G400 and many other Vid cards have holes where the stock HS/F was mounted, use these (or any other method) to strap that sucker on... Not so elegant but pretty easy.
those are the ones that come to mind quickly... I'm sure others may have more...

OK, what type of film should I use, then? (I pressume the purpose of doing this is that the film will melt after a few minutes of opperation, therefore glueing chip and HS together - am I corect?)
To learn how to attach a heatsink, flag down Maggi. He's here somewhere, and I'm pretty sure that there's even a fan super-glued to the back of his G400.

Thermal compound and thermal epoxy are two different animals.Thermal epoxy is a metallic based epoxy glue,thermal compound is a grease based substance used to fill tiny crevices,etc. between two surfaces to insure a solid heat transfer.

btw Maggi, I was thinking of putting small heatsinks on the G400's memory chip (a la Hercules Prophet2), so I'm afraid Superglue(tm) will not do. Anyway, it rotts the pcb :-(
