I tried the new 5.10 beta drivers for Win2k. The result: crash. I get a BSOD on boot up telling me something like PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA. So I had to go back to 5.03
I saw that matrox took the newly released beta drivers down from the web... maybe it's a common problem?
Here are my experiences, with an ALI chipset board along with AGP 0.20 beta drivers (the newest ones):
- Matrox 5.03 Half-life works fine in DIrect3D 1024x768 at 16 bit. Game won't start if screen is set to 24 or 32 bit (it complains). OpenGL mode in half-life makes the computer crash, although OpenGL screen savers work fine.
- Matrox 5.06 beta same as above, although even OpenGL screen savers crash.
- Matrox 5.10 beta unable to try...
Half-life is version 1.0.1.6
Anybody has these problems? Sgrunt...
Sebastian
