So, Kruzin old buddy old pal. Care to cough up a date for when the G200 drivers will be released? (not that I really expect an answer, but hey, I gotta at least try )
I'll post this on the offical Matrox forums when they open tommorow. Everquest is majorly busted with these drivers on a K6-2 550 and G400 MAX. For a quick, easy example simply make a Halfling in RV and run around. Grab your barf bag too, the texture distortions are that bad. I think UT's running better, but it's not enough to make up for the EQ problems.

I thought the 5.10 were going to be faster in openGL these are slower, I ran quake3 timedemo 1, and went from 55fps to 52fps.
I was expecting like 60fps or higher.
Or will win2K just never have the same speed in openGL as win9x ?
I know this is a beta, but is the best the speed in openGL will get ? or do we need to get a g450 to get better peformance ?

The 5.10 ICD AFAIK had mostly fixes for OpenGL APPS, not games. But if you pay attention, there are a lot of bugs in OpenGL games that are now fixed. I also noticed that OpenGL gameplay (particularly TFC) has greatly smoothed out, even though the benchmarks have dropped a tad. I don't base my opinions on benchmarks. I actually run and play the games and get a feel for how well it FEELS and LOOKS. These are definitely an improvement, and the improvements are still coming

Ya manz....the Matrox tweaker ain'nt workign after updated to PD6.00 driver.
I even tried to downgrad to PD5.55 and use Tweak to overclock the card...then manually copy the PD6 Direct3D n OpenGL ICD driver over the PD5.55. Hoping its might work. Sadly....its dun. Noticed the Binary size for the G400icd.dll is much smaller than PD5.41 ICD.
Let's hope matrox gave us the matrox tweaker...i losing abt 7fps...
Not to be worry. Third-party overclocking utilities such as MGATweak, always work regardless of PD version. It's the Matrox Tweak, Matrox own oc' utility that doesn't work, because it speaks to the driver. MGATweak speaks to the chip. The driver can be different but not the chip.
they are talking about the official matrox tweaking program, not the one that is called MGATweak Version (whatever)
the matrox tweak program is call the Matrox Tweak Utility and i dont remember its version either, but there is indeed a difference. Hope this helps

I've tried the 6.0.10 drivers with my G400 MAX on an ASUS P3V4X board, but I've gone back to 5.41. This version gives me the best UT performance (at least double the FPS). These beta drivers did, however, allow me to run AGP 4X on my VIA-based board, but performance was substandard. For me, 5.41 has been to best performing and stable set of drivers, even if it only runs 2X AGP.
Somebody had to try it... well I did:
the PD6 drivers are not comaptible with the Video Tools 1.54, which was to be expected, but hey, you never know, right...
AMD-K6-2-300, EPOX-58MVP3C-M,
Marvel G400, 64MB+64MB(PC100+PC133), Maxtor DM40PLUS 30GB,
W98 (no SE), currently no overclocking (FSB=100)
Can't really tell wheter Unreal Tournament is faster with these drivers, but at least the strange hickups have disappeared with these new drivers on my Athlon 500 with Asus K7M. Well done, Matrox.
