  • Monster, er, Matrox Fusion

Not a good name choice, BTW, as it reminds me too much of that Diamond Banshee card.

Don't worry, they're not marketing anything yet. The final name is not fixed, I'll bet.

Besides, it doesn't matter what name it has, since we all would want one Even if it had a name like Hedgehog, Squirrel or Turtle (although, a card with a name of Turtle? errrr, no !)

I think it's because there are only a limited number of suffixes available for hardware manufacturers to choose from: Pro, Max, Ultra, Xtra, Fusion, Ultra-pro, Ultra-max, Pro-Xtra, Pro-Fusion-Ultra... so after a while they run out of ideas !

How about Matrox Hydra? Sound like a great name for a multi-head card.

Rik, Turtle's Head, as in a quickly retracting head when you try to attach a monitor to it?

Himself, how slow do these cards play the music?

ET, sounds like a card that can play underwater as well !!

We'd better start copyrighting these names
What's the name of that 7-headed Dragon? Enter it in as well

Cerberus had three heads, Scylla had six, and Typhon had a hundred.

ET, Kerberos is the three-headed dog that guards the entrance to Hades ... also used in reference to an authentication algorithm.

I think you're both right on this one, Xortam. I'm pretty sure I've seen both spellings in common use.

Never could figure out why the entrance to Hades needed to be guarded...

Actually, Xortam, you got me curious, so I went looking, and I guess you and I are both wrong. Cerberus is the only one of the two names that I was able to find any references to the mythical demon-dog using (lots of it, too), while the only stuff I could find related to kerberos was of the authentication algorithm.
