    G400 MAX driver ???

the matrox-powerdesk installer always installs my card named "Matrox Millennium G400 DualHead - Deutsch".

    and i have a MAX!!!

today i found out that there is a driver named "Matrox Millennium G400 DualHead Max - Deutsch". i select this one manually in the device-manager and rebootet.

i think it's exactly the same driver; benchmarks are the same speed, too.

but why is my card detected as a "DualHaed" card from the PD-installer???

What does your RAMDAC speed show? If it is 360MHz then it is a MAX.

I think most of us know what hardware we've got. That's not the issue.
Surfwienix's got a point. Why even have an option for the MAX if the drivers & settings are the same (apart form the string value)?.

                    No Problem Surfwienix!

I suppose that You're still wondering (like I do!) if the string value is the only thing that's different.
I bet some one of the other guys in here can help!
