i just guess that a G800 fusion will cost too much for the market. Who will buy a 500 $ product ? Bt i don't know anything about retail price.

Shudders....730$ Canadian after taxes.(420$us),i figure that a G800 64 meg will go for about the same price(give or take 20/30$),the big question is,how much is a dual chip G800 going to cost,we may very well see a card like that going for roughly the same price as a voodoo5/6000(600$us)or about 1000$ canadian,that dual G800 will be a monster performance wise,but i wonder who'll be able to afford it.

a) We have no idea what "G800 Fusion" is, since no G800 product has been announced....but I'd be willing to bet it's not even close to what you think it is

b) We have no idea what G800 products are going to cost, since no pricing has been annouced....but I'd be willing to bet it's going to be less than you think it is

If I were a betting man; I'd say based on the name FUSION, it's the G800 'replacement' to the MARVEL line. The fusion of graphics and video.
But, only the shadow knows!

I still say that a 64 meg G800 with roughly the same performance as the Geforce2(according to the leaked unofficial specs... )will be about the same price as the existing 64meg Geforce 2,why?,for at least 2 reasons

• n*1,in order for it to have equal or better performance than a Geforce 2,it will have to be equipped with 200/250 mhz sgram DDR memory,which even by the time it will be released won't be cheap and even then you still won't have the full performance of the core(same problem as the Geforce/Geforce2)
• if the G800 does indeed live up to it's performance potential and is actually faster than a Geforce2(64meg)do any of you actually believe matrox will give us a break and sell the cards 100$ below the competition????,dream on... .

don't worry i just try do make humour. So, to be serious i would say "Guys i know nothing about Matrox's next gen".

I make humour because i'm tired to wait Matrox's gohst products. I love (and need) quality in 2D, but it's every day harder to play Q3, UT in 800*600 in full option with a lot a bots, even NFS5 with 7 opponents ! The lates Q3's mod (alliance) is unplayable.
