G400/W98/OGL/Blender (again...)

I posted about this a while back. Wasn't too important then, but it would be really useful to crack this at the moment...

Has anyone got Blender to work under Win98 with a G400. If so, what version of drivers are you using?

All I get is a frozen computer
I get the Blender window filling the screen, but nothing in it. I've fiddled about, but can't get it to go at all.

Any ideas anyone?

It's a freeware 3d rendering/animation program.

It's supposed to be very powerful, I just wish I could find out

excuse me for my ignorance, but what is a blender? It makes me think of some kind of special effect used when editing movies...
