  • G400 (Vanilla)or TNT2 (Pro)? (please be gentle.. hihi..)

These are the "only" choice i have at the moment.. due to money, timing, family problems etc..(kidding..)

it's only a gap filler till i earn much more money and new gen vid cards arrive.. I don't like Geforce personally.. (i think it's due to it's price..)

assume same price coz it is same where i'm buying..

i would like to play games at least 800*600 and i really don't mind the colour depth at all..

monitor can't handle more than 1024*768 anywayz.. haha..

I play mostly only Direct3D games..
only OpenGL stuff i run are screensavers, MDK2 etc.. not even Quake3..!

    I have a Celeron 952Mhz.. (Celemine2-566 Oced) roughly equivalent to a P3-800 or 850..

i hope you guys can convince me why i should choose a G400.. hihihi.. ^^

I have a G400 vanilla and a friend of mine owns a Creative TnT2U, we both have a Celeron 400 OC to 450. He gets more fps in OpenGL and I get more in D3D, the picture quality in the G400 is way better. There is nothing to compare in 2D.
If you're planning on staying with the card for a while, the TnT2 is now obsolete since nVDIA moved to the GeForce. You could still see improvements in he G400 and the feature count is way higher - exellent DVD playback, DH (for second monitor or TV-OUT), EMBM etc.
    Whatever you decide, have fun.

A question if I may, Maggi, do you think getting a 566Mhz Celeron an clocking it to 850Mhz is worth it? with what Vcore are you getting 900mhz+? and with what Vcore you think I can reach 850Mhz? I want to get it, but I still feel "Nervous" when playing around with my Vcore...
