  • G450 performances

I ve read that G450 will have the same performaces of G400 and the MAX version is expected to be the fast Matrox card until the introduction of G800!
    Is it possibile?

What do you think about the default G450 clock?
    More on less than 150Mhz?
    And what about DDR clock?
I heard that G450 will use 64bit SDRAM DDR instead of normal 128bit DDR!
If it is confirmed G400 SDRAM will have the same performances of G450 DDR!

        Hi Venturer,

I have no idea on the clock speeds you asked for, sorry.

But, if you follow the link that Barbarella posted in another thread http://www.toshiba.com/taec/componen...P_memory.shtml
you'll find out that 'normal' DDR RAM is 64bits and there's only one exception in 128bits which is labeled as DDR-II 222/400MHz ...

Also there is no official word on the real speed yet, so all comparisons are based upon pure speculation and therefore invalid ... ;(

        Cheers,
        Maggi

          THX for your answer Maggie!
I thank that SGRAM (not SDRAM) memory is 128 bit instead of 64!
Now i must make my choice between G400MAX and G450 Matrox cards!
I would the fastest card! In your opinion shall i wait G450 or had to buy G400MAX?
Sorry for my horrible English but i m only a poor Italian!

Of course this is possible ...

BUT, none of those rumuors or infos took overclocking into consideration and seeing the fact that the G450 will have a smaller die and utilizes faster memory could put it on top of the G400 MAX performancewise.

            Just speculating though.

            Cheers,

If you want a card NOW buy a G400MAX. If you don't mind waiting, wait for the G800 (F800 or what ever they will be called).
