  • What is the Warp Clock?

I was trying to o/c my G400 Dualhead 32 Megger, and I was just wondering what the warpclock was.

I can get my card to run fine at MAX speeds.

i'm not sure, but i just kept mine at the same speed as my core clock
    no harm, no foul.

It's what Scotty changes when Kirk needs more Warp speed.

Don't expect me to be an expert on video cards. I know a little about general HW, and that's it.

            Briand,

didn't the word 'Warp' appear only in Star strek with the next generation (jean-luc Picard, ...)

I must be getting old. No, Kirk was always asking for warp speed.

"Scotty - You've got about 2 hours to totally rebuild the warp drive and find 10 perfect dilithium crystals in your toolbox or the entire universe will cease to exist."

Whatever they were paying him, it wasn't enough.

If my memory serves me right the warp core on the G400 was suppose to be able to do T&L and all they had to do was write drivers for it.

                          Now for real...

The WARP is a programable part of the Gx00 series chips that can execute integer or single precision floating point calculations. It´s used for the triangle setup part of the rendering process. No it can´t do T&L

Then WARP is used for triangle setup. i.e. when doing 3D stuff. Ordinarily it runs at the same speed at the core IIRC.

I haven't played with the WARP, so don't know if it actually makes much difference. I mean it may be fill rate bound and the WARP spends its time waiting.

Just play and see if goes quicker. If it dies buy another G400:-)
