  • WinNT4SP6 Matrox G400SH16MB No logon??!

Hi, I have a "small" but big problem on a Win NT-box I'm setting up at work. It's a Digital 2500, with a P2-233/64RAM and a G400SH16. The problem is that when I have installed WinNTWS 4, and the network adapter, set up the domain, and then I install SP6a (Norwegian both NT and SP
When I get to where the logon prompt should be, it's only the WinNT-wallpaper and no logon prompt. The mouse is movable so it's not locked up.

Any ideas of why it's behaving like this?
    Thx,

Well, this is way off in the back of my brain, but I "seem" to recall this scenario.
It may be you accidentally installed SP6 and not SP6a. I think the "no logon" was one of the reported bugs of the original SP6.

But, as I said this is a very distant recall so I may be confusing it with something completely different.

    Does it trigger anything???

mmm I remember something like that as well. However if recently downloaded the service pack that won't be the problem.
It could also be a time to bring out the rescue disks.

Press Ctl Alt Del and this should bring up task manager this may give a clue. Look for applications that are not running and services that are running at 100%.
