G400 on 86 Mhz AGP

I am thinking of buying an Asus CUBX (440BX)
motherboard and overclock the FSB to 133 Mhz.
This means that the AGP frequency also
increases 33% (86 Mhz). Will a G400 card
survive? Will it need an extra fan?

It should survive. Anyway if your thinking of overclocking it's always worth putting a fan on it.

Be sure to run it at AGP 1X only, else it will most likely give you problems, and heck, who can really tell the difference between 1 and 2 X anyway??

Worked fine with no extra cooling on my system (Abit BP6, Dual Celeron 366@480, G400) - even with x2 AGP. I did not do heavy 3D on it though (only short Q3 games), which stresses the card more. i.e.the drawing engine is sitting idle mostly.

It should be noted that in normal operation the card takes its timings from a few onboard PLLs, so you are not overclocking the drawing engine (except on boot when it uses the PCI/AGP clock AFAIK - but it runs slow then anyway).

I reckon you will be OK, but of course it is your risk!
