Paddy,
Not only is my email flaky, my posts were getting eaten by the board last night.
If you can, ICQ me tonite, or I can try and figure out the Win2k FTP server to get the proggy to you.
As far as resources go, typically (for Asus and Abit anyway)if you have ACPI disabled, your AGP slot will use the same IRQ as PCI slot 1 (closest to the AGP slot). Try assigning an IRQ (in your BIOS) to the 1st PCI slot and see what happens.
Paddy:
I'm not sure about Win2k (haven't used it yet), but the old tried and true way to change IRQ assignments is to move your PCI cards around and to leave PCI#1 (next to the AGP slot) open. Usually, I suggest moving the Modem to the shared PCI/ISA slot, your sound and Ethernet cards in the slots as you move toward the AGP slot. I have sucessfully used an Ethernet card in the slot next to the AGP slot, but no other card has worked well there.
Before you move your cards, uninstall any drivers for them or you will likely end up with double IRQ's for some of them. Get the machine working with just the G400 and then reinstall the other drivers. SCSI cards are also hard to get working in PCI#1.
I am using a K6-3 450 with a G400 and DVD works great. It can be a little jumpy on the AVI's before the movie starts, but I've never had any problems with the actual movies. So, yes you should be able to get a K6-2 500 to run movies without too much problem.
