G400 vs Radeon 2D performance ?

    G400 vs Radeon 2D performance ?

    Hi ppl

    I have been humming an haring as to a new Graphics card,its not that I dont like Matrox cos they rock but I feel a bit left behind in the speed stakes.

    The Radeon 64 Mb card is available to me for less than I paid for my G400 Max approx £200.00

    My Max cost me £205.00 November last year but the only thing that worries me is the 2D quality.

    I have not really used the Dual head as much as I would have liked because my second monitor failed,But I have watched several dvd's on my tv with s video cables.

    The price of dvd's fro instance has dropped greatly in the last few months and if I wanted one for my tv I could get it for reasonable monies.

    So what would be the best card and please dont say wait for the G800 because Thats not going to be available fro a long time :[

    IMO, get a GTS 32 MB card (Herculese Prophet II) if you need speed. Mine is great. 2D image quality is very good.

    I don't recommend ATI because not many people trust ATI for quality drivers.

      Go for the Radeon, it's the best card out there right now. It has all features possible in hardware, it's the fastest in 32bit hi-res, it has image quality close to G400 and the best DVD support available.

      ATi's bad driver history has not been repeated with the Radeon, it has now much more stable and functional drivers than GF.

        Yeah, right! Not only is the 2D on the Radeon just as good as that of Matrox cards - its drivers are more stable than those of GF, its DVD decoding surpasses that of standalone dvd decoder cards, it head is better than dual head... BTW, it also washes your dishes better than General Electric.
        Asus A7V, Duron 600@900, 192MB PC133@100, G200, Guillemot MUSE, etc.

                    Sorry tuco but you will not be able to find the Radeon at that price now;[

                    It was on the today only for two days but now it has gone,must have been very popular.
