Different Powerdesk version!!

Hi everyone
I recently downloaded and installed PD6.04.029 from Matrox's site,but when I checked the PD version under the help tab,it's reported as ver 6.14.051!!!! Now that's verrrry strange! So what is the actual version of these latest PD drivers??

LOL ... same old hat ...

they make a difference between the following revision numbers:
[*] Powerdesk (6.14.051)[*] Driver (don't know in your case)[*] Driver package (6.04.029)

Very confusing, isn't it ?

Btw, Powerdesk is the software that utilizes the drivers to let you do all the customizations like refresh rates, color correction, hotkeys and all those other nifty options ...

The driver version has always been different but I always thought that Matrox drivers were referred to by the powerdesk versions!
Atleast this has been so in the earlier drivers (like PD5.41)

In the past that was true.
With the 6.xx versions it no longer is.
There is now a display driver version, a PD version, and now a "Driver package version" (plus the ICD ver, mini-vdd ver, ICD ver, and TGL ver).

So now instead of refering to PD versions like we are all used to, we need to refer to package version...

I see said the blind man. Here is the reason behind the different PD versions displayed in my G450 driver package and the one listed in the Matrox site. They are probably the same, or the Matrox one is newer. (Even though my driver's PD version number displayed is higher than that in the Matrox site)

But, when you install those drivers it is clearly stated on your screen that it is PD 6.04.029. Apparently, PD no longer means powerdesk.

Maybe PD now stands for Priver Dackage ???
