I have a P3 system with a dual head G400 Millenium. I am experiencing tiny dots all over my text in multiple programs and then I get vertical dashes across my screen when I play Q3 or Sub Titans, or Sim City for that matter. I have updated to the latest PowerDesk/drivers. Can anyone here tell me what is going on???

I have a ViewSonic A90 Monitor...1152x864. I also have an M3d installed along with the video card. No fan on the board. My windows works OK, and so does some games like Diablo 2. I just installed OpenGL, and now Quake3 doesn't work at all. So I will reinstall it. I have about had it with this Matrox Card...

The M3d concerns me. Why is that thing in the machine if you have a G400?Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

When you say "M3d", do you mean a Matrox M3d, or a Diamond Monster3d (that many people refer to as M3d as well)?
Either way, like the others have asked....WHY?
Also, you state "I just installed OpenGL, and now Quake3 doesn't work at all.".
What does this mean? You dont install OpenGL, it is part of the operating system and video drivers. There is nothing separate to install, unless you are referring to the G400s TurboGL. The full OpenGL ICD is installed when you install the G400 drivers.
Initially, I would have suspected a heat issue. Now I would lean toward the M3d as the culprit.
If this is a Matrox M3d, there is absolutly no reason for it to be in there, G400 does much better 3D than the old M3d.
If this is a Monster3d, the only conceivable reason to have it in there is if there is some old Glide game(s) you cannot live without that do not support OGL or D3D.
Either way my first suggestion is to get rid of the M3d (making sure you fully remove any drivers for it as well).
