Interesting sig, if true must be beta testing stuff for somebody. (Sounds like wishful thinking to me but if not you the man

Who cares? Don't tell me u r using G400 right now
Doesn't it drives us nuts when a G400 user like us not even know what's the actual capablity of this badd chip? Don't understand why Matrox so shy to let us know about this?

Actually, I am running a G400MAX. And honestly, don't care about it's polygon pumping capabilities. I use my Matrox for 2d and watching DVD's.

Now,...that being said, I'd love to see the G800 come out with some serious fillrate/geometry. But, until then I'll keep using my nVidia to game, and my Matrox to surf.

Seem like every1 here is an expert in G400. Alright, let me ask you guys 2 simple Qs:

        * How many transistor in G400?
        * How many triangle/second G400 can push out?

        (Don't ask me, I don't know. He..he..)

Dunno, but when you go here http://www.matrox.com/mga/dev_relati...atrox_g400.cfm
and register as developer, you get access to the chip specs etc ...

            Cheers,
            Maggi

PS: To answer your request about polygon throughput, you should name the conventions under which the test should run ...
I could bomb you with 3D Mark results for example.
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

Obviously RRedline has alot of money. If I could afford to upgrade my video card, memory and CPU every 3-4 months I could have something that no mortal could poke fun at. But as I have to eat,pay rent etc, I have to use the same video card for a couple of years. The G40032meg I have has been absolutely stable and high quality. Also it is totally fast enough for what I do. I play Startrek Voyager(Q3 based), UT, WW2Fighters,Mech3, Falcon4 and others. I have no problem with all of them and others and I play at 8x6 or 10x7 with almost everything maxed or close to it. And I have a lowly iCeleryA at 525. The G400 is supposed to need a 700mhz P3 to be best too. I know that a G4ce or G4ce2 will be way faster, but I would rather pay my rent so I have somewhere to plug my cable modem in that is dry and warm. But maybe I'm just jealous

Believe it or not? the 125M transistors Rendition V4400 (GeForce has 23M transistors) deliver 2X the performance of G800 or NV20 which u r dreaming of.

I just finished testing the G800 against the new V4400e (not the V4400, which is over 2 years old), and found the G800 to be almost 20% faster, even though the Rendition drivers are more mature.

The NV20 did slightly better than both of them but - as usual - the visual quality wasn't as good at 4096x3072. The Radeon II MAXX couldn't complete the test due to driver instability (it was OK when I toggled the APG transfer rate down from 8x to 4x, but the performance hit was noticeable)...
