OK, I finally decided to hook up my BNC cables to see if I could see a difference.

    The result.......

I COULD see a difference. Although I never noticed this before, with my VGA cable I could see very slight ghosting of bold black text on a white background, about 1/4 of an inch to the right of the image. Switching back & forth between the two cables, that ghost was definatelyl dependant on the VGA cable, and disappeared with the BNC cable. As far as general clarity or more vibrant colors, I don't notice any of this, but I'm having to get behind my computer to switch, look, get behind again, etc. There could be more subtle differences that would only be apparent in direct AB comparisons. Wish I still had the G400 in this machine so I could use the DH for this comparison (although it woldn't be completely fair since the two ramdacs aren't identical).

So at least in MY comparison between the standard VGA cable that came with my CTX monitor and a Cables to Go BNC cable, the BNC wins. See my post above to get this cable for only $12!

I'm still a bit skeptical about the virtues of BNC in and of itself.... it seems to me like the quality of the build of the cable would have more to do with any differences than the type of connectors used, but my limited experience does support the "BNC is better" notion.

yah!..Im glad you find out your best solution ..still this "ghosting" efect could be a light convergence problem & maybe you could just set it right via CONVERGENCE control on your monitor but sinsce the BNC makes it right ..who care !..well you dont have to be skeptic about BNC cabels or connectors because ALL PROFFESIONAL or BROADCASTING equipment use BNC as DEFAULT
