The full version Cinemaster 2000 will do as good a job as any for your G400.
You can D/L it at www.digital-digest.com -it's about 16 mb. Don't be confused
by the Matrox lable on the bundled DVD player...there is no hardware
acceleration of any kind...DVD playback is totally CPU dependent.
          This means
ANY DVD player software can be utilized as well as any other. It's just a matter of which sofware works best with your particular OS.

The only problem with that Cine2000 is that it's not the final version but a work in progress with quite some little annoying bugs.

Someone on Oleg's discussion board posted the following. Promising.

Just got the final version of Ravisent Cinemaster 2000 (Elsa-Edition). Much more stable than the pre-release-version, that was spreaded around the net several month ago. A really great player.
I've contactet Oleg for hosting the new soft. Stay tuned.

I think Matrox G450 Cinemaster is a final version of course better than G400 SoftDVD!
I hope someone will upload it somewhere in the web!

I'm having problem play DVD on Win2k. I d/l the cine 2000 player from the link above and installed the thing. When the player loads it just stay on the splash screen and then everything stops. Also tried PowerDVD but when I try to play the disc it reports an internal error. Someone please help or provide a link to a "final" cine 2000 player.

                    Hi,

Cinemaster2000 works OK for me. Also does WinDVD 2.55 (both on W2k). The only problem I have, is that the anamorph picture I get from DVD is not stretched vertically. I have a Black border left and right and some "eggheads". WinDVD does that all right, but I do not like the handling ....

                    I'm using: Cinemaster2000, W2k, G400DH and the 6 Sense (PAL)

                    Joe

For registered RT2000 customers there is a downloadable update available, but since the RT only fully supports W98, there could be a problem with other OSes that need to be fixed before a general update for the DVD player can be released.

                      Not sure though ...

                      Cheers,
